 Jiuyuan
has platform technologies including gene engineering,
cell-antibody engineering and TCM (Traditional Chinese
Medicine) modernization, dedicating to pharmaceutical
R&D in the fields of hematology, oncology, endocrine
metabolism and neurological diseases.
The Research
Institute is staffed with 18 professionals, of which
2 hold Ph.D. degree or associate professorship,
5 hold Master degree, 11 hold B.S. degree. Adding
professionals in the Dept. of QA and Dept. of Manufacturing
together, the number of total research people exceed
sixty. We have state-of-art instruments and equipment
for molecular cloning, fermentation, purification,
analysis and cell culturing. We have cutting-edge
technology in developing recombinant protein therapies,
including the up stream gene recombination and protein
expression and the down stream protein purification.
Initially
Jiuyuan was engaged in developing protein therapy
by gene engineering for the treatment of neutropenia
induced by chemotherapy against malignant tumors.
In the area of traditional chemical drugs, Jiuyuan
had successfully developed LMWH (Low Molecular Weight
Heparin), indicated to unstable angina, anticoagulation
during haemodialysis and DVT(Deep Venous Thrombosis)
induced by joint replacement. Recently we have achieved
positive results in developing new generation drugs
of the above-mentioned 2 drugs.
Currently
apart from developing gene engineering protein therapies,
Jiuyuan is also developing cell engineering protein
therapies, Mab (Monoclonal antibody) target drug
as well as modernization of active ingredients in
TCM. In order to build Jiuyuan into a comprehensive
biopharmaceutical company, we are developing multiple
proprietary technology platforms.
