[Pharmacological
action]
Jipailin can enhance the inhibitory
activity of anti-thrombin III (ATIII) against factor
Xa and thrombin by binding to ATIII and its complexes.
Due to its shorter mucopolysaccharide chain, Jipailin
has higher inhibitory activity against Xa than against
thrombin. The ratio of anti-factor Xa/anti-factor
IIa of Jipailin is 3:1 to 4:1, while that of UFH(unfractionated
heparin) is 1:1 (See Figure: Mechanism Comparison
between Jipailin and UFH).
In several experimental models
in rabbits and mice, whether i.v. or s.c., Jipailin
demonstrates significant antithrombotic activity,
similar or higher than UFH. Jipailin shows less
anticoagulation activity than UFH.
